My visit to Beijing's Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1997 was the beginning of my journey as a Chinese Medicine practitioner. RIGHT: Watching the brewing of Chinese herbs at the hospital. I studied Tuina with Chinese medical doctors, a Chinese massage technique widely used in Asian folk medicine as a remedy for extreme pain. The massage is vigorous and quickly speeds up circulation, bringing more oxygen to the required area and promoting healing. BELOW: Practicing Tuina with fellow student.
BELOW: With an old master, a maker of hand-made acupuncture needles. You can see the whole set at my clinic!
BELOW: Receiving my diploma from the principle training doctor at the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing, China.
BELOW: Physician in hospital diagnosing the knee of a patient.
BELOW: Typical mornings in the Beijing parks.
