What is the Five Element treatment like? How can traditional acupuncture benefit me? What will happen in the first treatment? How should I choose my acupuncturist? What is the Five Element treatment like?
Five Element Acupuncture treatments are gentle. Only a few needles are used in combination with moxa (Chinese herbs pressed into small scones) or gua sha (a massage technique often used for muscle spasms). RIGHT: My treatment room. How can traditional acupuncture benefit me?People who received ongoing treatment for maintenance and promotion of good health reported that they:
What about the needles?Acupuncture needles are solid and slightly thinner than human hair. Needles are stainless steel, pre-sterilized and are disposed after each treatment. Do the needles hurt?It depends. Usually the needles are painless, but sometimes they might feel like a light prick or give a short burning sensation which quickly dissipates. The sensation of the treatment has no resemblance to doing a blood draw for a lab. What will happen in the first treatment? The first treatment lasts between 90 and 120 minutes to give plenty of time for the acupuncturist to listen and discover any underlying conditions related to your symptoms. Part of the examination is a physical exam, including taking your pulse and visually inspecting your tongue. You will also receive your first needle treatment. Once the needles are inserted, you will rest for a period of time, usually 15-30 minutes. At the end of the session you will have a chance to ask questions and discuss your treatment plan. How should I choose my acupuncturist?
Do you take insurance?Yes, please contact me by phone or email. Why should I come to you?Two distinct reasons: First, I am a good listener. Finding the hidden sources of our suffering comes from acute listening to what is being said or not being said. I have developed fine observation skills which is the foundation of Traditional Chinese for diagnosing and designing a treatment plan that will best serve each individual patient. Secondly, I love what I do. I bring my passion to the healing session, which creates a positive influence that will facilitate your healing journey. |
